Stay Polarized
This program is centered around a more structured and polarized approach to training and working out. Not only because of the studies that suggest it can outperform training that is moderate to high intensity most of the time (this is how most people train) -- but we feel that it may indeed be more easily sustained without creating as much overuse and over-training problems. This is especially important for those at risk for injury and the Over 40 crowd.
Think about it. If you are keeping the intensity low most of the time, but especially when you're doing continuous long workouts, then you can avoid that point of overwhelm where you continue fatiguing to the point where your body is no longer able to maintain optimal support around the joints and your form (posture) becomes degraded. This is where injuries begin. And additionally, if most days you exercise up at the moderate to a high level of intensity then you are most likely not recovering from the workouts...
