About the Class

Module Key Topic

Personal financial planning is a lifelong process and student-athletes are guided through the specifics of it in this module. Student-athletes will be making financial decisions all their life; sometimes they will foresee situations and plan deliberately, sometimes, well, things just happen, and they will be forced to make instant decisions. Creating their financial game plan means making deliberate decisions now that will allow them to get closer to their goals while reflecting the realities of being an athlete. The module is divided into twelve separate sessions with each session addressing a key area of the module’s theme.

Module Learning objectives

  • Your personal financial plan should adhere to your personal values and mission, and it should reflect the legacy you want to leave behind.
  • Needs refer to necessities. Wants to refer to things you would like to have – something not absolutely necessary for your survival but which can add comfort and pleasure to your life.
