When you think of emotion regulation, what comes to mind? Do you have tools to work through difficult emotions?
There is so much work to be done with helping educators, actually helping all adults, build their emotional intelligence. I highly recommend checking out Marc Brackett's book, Permission to Feel, and developing the skills he highlights in his book:

R: Recognize emotions
U: Understand emotions and the precipitating events
L: Label emotions: Develop a robust emotional vocabulary and be precise when labeling. If you name them, you can tame them.
E: Learn how to express emotions in a constructive way
R: Learn the 4 strategies of emotion regulation: Mindful breathing, attention shifting, cognitive reappraisal, and planning ahead
