Okay, recommendations. So recommendations from other people are huge. Okay, you want to get recommendations from past and current employers, you want to get recommended recommendations from past and current co workers, anybody you've worked with, you can connect to on LinkedIn. Anybody that's you've worked for, um, if you've got business partners that you've done projects on these projects with and you're, you've done projects in the past, you'll get recommendations from those people. What's the best way to do that? Well, you can contact someone on LinkedIn and connect with them.

And they say, Hey, you know, I really like to know what you recommend. I'd really like to get a recommendation from you. Can you write me a recommendation, okay, and that's probably the best way to not get a recommendation. Okay. People are busy. So, one thing I like to do is I like to contact I just did this with past business partner.

I contact my business partner, I say, say Hey, buddy. You know, I'd like to Write your recommendation, why don't you send me over what you want me to say. And then I'll, you know, add my little twist to it and give you recommendation and you can do the same. And that works out really well, because now at this point, we're giving each other value, okay? And I'm sending them the recommendation, they would write about me. So this does a couple things.

One, it gives value to it. You know, it doesn't, it doesn't make the other person have to think too much about what they want to say about you. I mean, it's really easy to talk about yourself, right? I mean, most people do. So all you really need to do is just write your own recommendation. I mean, don't, you know, make it make it generous, but don't you know, don't go over the top or anything, but write your own recommendation, send it to them, they'll send you theirs, and then you can vote, do the recommendation.

It's that simple. works very well. You know, don't do this with somebody you don't know that. Well. Don't, you know, don't email Donald Trump and say, Hey, here's my recommendation. I want you to sign off on if you Don't know Donald Trump, and that probably won't go very well.

And even if it's a past, you know, Professor, coworker, employer, you know, kind of, you know, make sure you get the relationship built back up before you just start asking for favors. But, you know, the more recommendations you have, the better as far as getting ranked in LinkedIn. groups and events, okay, these are probably going to rank the most quickly out of anything we've talked about, okay, so you want to join as many groups and events as you can, okay, you want to be very active in LinkedIn, that's how you get ranked. Okay, so you can join groups, you can join events, but then you can also create your own groups and events. And then you can connect and introduce people through these. Okay, so we're going to talk about events in a later module.

But for now, just know, groups and events are one of the best ways to get ranked in LinkedIn. LinkedIn loves this sackers has a new feature that they really love. So You know, if you don't have any that you can join or you want to join, create your own, okay? Get your network together. Even if it's just around a certain niche or product or something that you are all interested in, create that group helps you organize your contacts a little bit better too. So you can't go wrong with creating groups and events.

Got multiple work experiences, okay. So for ranking purposes, you want to make sure you show all your projects. Okay, this isn't a toot your own horn. This isn't to talk about and boast about what you've accomplished. But having multiple work experiences will help you rank and LinkedIn. So show all your projects, show all the show all the projects that you've worked on.

So all the projects that you've completed, and even your previous jobs can go here with your recommendations from previous employers and co workers. Now, earlier I said jobs don't necessarily need to go on your business profile. But when it comes to ranking in LinkedIn, certainly the more the merrier as far as that goes, so Get your jobs on there anything you've done in the past, you don't have to say, you know, I was a, you know, if you're just now if you just now started your own business and you've always worked jobs before, you know, you can, you can dress it up and make it sound however you want, okay? We're not, we're not trying to get hired here. And if you are, then there's there's best practices for that. And you could certainly research that on Google best ways to get hired.

But, you know, for these purposes, you can say whatever you want. I mean, you know, I can't believe how many times I've met somebody. And I've asked them what they do, which I really don't like that question. But I do it anyway. Sometimes ask somebody what they do, and they just give me this mundane kind of boring answer. You know, I'm a, this or I'm that and it's just like, I'm surprised people don't take the time to actually think about what they do and speak about the value that they provide versus, you know, the actual technical thing they do.

In business, there's a on sales, there's a saying, you want to sell the benefits, not the features, okay? So you want to sell If you're selling a car, for example, you want to sell the feeling that person is going to get on a hot day driving down the road with the air, you know blasting on and the music up versus, you know, this car has a great air conditioning, okay? And it's the same way with your with your projects, okay? If you work a job, every job no matter how boring or, you know, uninteresting you think it might have been, you can make it sound pretty cool. You just got to do a little thinking, though brainstorming. And always, you know, talking about the skills that you learned at the job talking about the values if you work for a company where you really connected with devalues and really resonated with that.

And you can talk about those in your previous positions as well sky's the limit. Okay. And then the final thing I want to talk about is keywords on your profile. Okay. So LinkedIn has a ranking system similar to Google, they've got their own algorithms and all this. It's not obviously there's not as many people searching on LinkedIn on a daily basis as there is on Google.

But one thing you can do is use the search bar, type in a keyword and then see how many people and companies are ranking for these different keywords. Okay, it's a great technique to just kind of see what your competition is like. And then like Google, longer tail keywords are easy to rank for within LinkedIn network, okay, so longer tail just means more words, okay? So instead of putting internet or internet marketing, you could put, you know, internet marketing, ebook creator, you know, or whatever, and you could, you're gonna be able to rank for stuff like that a lot easier than these shorter keywords. Now, keep in mind, like I said, Google and LinkedIn are two separate entities and it's gonna be easier to rank for words and in LinkedIn than it is in Google. So you know, give it a shot, you know, put the put the keywords in your profile, put it in your description of what you do.

Put it in your work experience. Just put together keywords is, is in in as many places as you can. Don't keyword stuff, don't do any of that, you know, don't make it to where nothing really makes sense because it's just a bunch of keywords jumbled together. This is only one aspect of the many we've talked about in this ranking factors section. So all these together are really going to be what helps you connect, okay, what helps you rank so make sure you're getting the connections, make sure you've got the multiple work experiences, you're putting the right keywords, then try to attain expert status in your niche. You know, keep your account active, things like that.

Join groups and events, create groups and events and you're gonna be ranking in LinkedIn and no time. So in the next video, in the next few videos, I'm gonna show you how to actually go into your profile and find certain tools and kind of go over some of stuff we've talked about here and then some additional things to help you rank your personal profile and LinkedIn and start showing up and people search results start becoming the authority. So thanks for watching this video. We'll see in the next video.
