Okay, welcome back. In this video, we're going to talk about LinkedIn events and why you should utilize them to make your network bigger, connect with people, and eventually start promoting your products and offers and working with potential partners. So LinkedIn events go, typically more viral than Facebook. That's mainly because LinkedIn is seen as more of a professional environments more of a professional feel. Most people are on there for business, you can drive a lot of traffic to a webinar because of this, because of the more viral aspect of LinkedIn events. Also, you can invite all of your peers, as a company on LinkedIn, you can invite everyone you're connected to to the event on Facebook, you can invite all of your friends to an event, but if you're a page, you can't invite everyone to an event.

So it's harder to get People to your actual event as a company, okay, but on LinkedIn, you can do it. So it, it makes it a little easier to create an event and then invite people to it. So when you're setting up your event, you want to use keywords on events setup page, okay? So you want to use the the right keyword just like we talked about, you want to think about who should attend. You want to target the audience with your keywords, basically. Okay, so if you're trying to do an event on internet marketing, then obviously that may be a keyword that you use when creating the event.

Anybody that's interested in internet marketing will be more likely to attend your event. And then also, don't forget to send invites, I know it sounds silly, but once you create your event, send invites to people so they know that they should be showing up to your event. And typically, what we've seen is you end up getting more attendees at a free event, then you get an event where people need to pay. Okay, you'll most likely get more attendees At an online event, versus an offline event that's supposed to be offline. So if you're trying to send people to an actual networking event, you may have more trouble doing that. If you're sending people to that event.

And people don't know each other that well, people don't really know the people that are going to be there. But if you if you've established a group, and you've been communicating with that group for a long time, there's a good discussion going, everybody knows each other, then you may have more luck, actually, you know, hosting an event in your city. Probably more likely for the people that live in that city. But hey, you know what, you got to start somewhere. There's people I know now and in the internet marketing world that host events and everybody shows up from everywhere. People come in from out of the country to show up to these events.

So you know, but you got to crawl before you walk. So if you've never done this before, then you may want to just start out flow, maybe start out with the webinar more. So your resource you can use to do that. And then just start, you know, using the webinars kind of a discussion forum. You can you can teach them, you can teach something, you can answer questions, it's a great start. And the webinar event location can actually just be the registration link, and we'll show you how to set all that up as well.

Okay, then a couple more things, you want to give your audience an opportunity to post questions on pages you want to rank for. Okay, so if you've got a page you want to rank for, then make sure that your audience can ask questions on that page. Then you also want to add the event to your personal profile. Okay. And then you can use related keywords in the event description just like you would on your profile, just like you would describing your company or what you do. And then there's a really cool application called the LinkedIn events application.

You want to make sure you get that on your profile so everyone can see your event. How to get that. And then event promotion on LinkedIn relies heavily on your existing connections. So I put this in the advanced section. Because, you know, the first step is going to be to build a network, okay? Build a group, build people in your industry that you're connected to connect with as many people as possible.

And then when you've got, you know, several people you're connected to, then you can start working on these events, okay? You don't want to end up throwing a webinar, we're only a couple people show up. Okay. And typically, with webinars, you know, most of the time you maybe out of all the people that sign up, do you send the event to maybe a third sign up, and then the third show up typically, okay. And that's, and that's, that's industry standard. So, you know, you want to have a lot of people in your network before you start doing these events, but by all means, join groups and go to other events, okay.

You're going to learn how to do this the way you want to do it by going to other events and learning and seeing what other people are doing. Okay, so that about wraps it up. Thanks for watching in the next video, we'll actually go in and look at events and we'll show you how to set it up in your LinkedIn account.
