Okay guys, so now we're going to discuss the workbook after save event. So you can get the workbook after save event by going to your VBA editor and then double clicking on this workbook here, and then selecting workbook from this menu and selecting after save from this menu. So the workbook after save event triggers any code that you write after saving. And to be more specific, it's actually after attempting to save and that means that it gets triggered whether the Save was successful or whether it's was unsuccessful. Okay? So you can actually use it in combination with the before save, or actually, this is what we're going to do on this example.

So we've had the before save event, we've had that example where you ask a user to enter his name, and if the name is entered, and he presses control in essence choice to save the workbook. If the name is entered in the workbook is going to be saved. If the cell is blank and he presses Ctrl N s, he's going to get this message box here cannot save, please enter your name. So we're going to actually use the workbook off to save event and we're gonna have a message box that says save was we're going to have a space after walls, and we're going to concatenate that with the parameter here in the workbook after save event that is called success. And this parameter here success takes two values, either true or false. If the Save was done successfully, that is going to have a value of true if the Save was not done, if the saved does not go through and the workbook does not get saved, then it's going to have a value of false.

Okay, so what's gonna happen here is that, we're gonna try to save the workbook. Okay, I'm going to try To save it Ctrl N s here this cell is blank there is no name entered this is why the workbook before save event displays this message box it says cannot save Please enter your name. And to prove that actually it will run I mean the after save event will run even if your save was unsuccessful. I'm going to click OK here and you're going to see the message box here. This message box is the one triggered by the after save event and it says save was false okay, because the value of the parameter that is called success was false. This is why you display save was false.

If I enter my name or really anything in this cell and press Ctrl N so again it says save was true and the first message bought message box the first message box that was for the before save event was not triggered because there was a name entered okay because the if statement does not trigger the message box unless the cell is empty, okay, so as you can see here, it tests if the cell range B one, the cell B one is blank, then cancel equals true, which means that the workbook is not going to be saved and the message box appears, but otherwise, the message box will not appear. Okay, so basically the workbook after save event gets triggered whenever you actually attempt to save a workbook and whether the Save was successful or not. Whatever code you put in here on the workbook after save event will get triggered.
