Hey guys, welcome to this quick update video about Instagram story ads. Now, I want to shoot this video for two reasons. One is in, in the Instagram marketing one on one course, I have a video that is talking about how to do Instagram story ads. Now that Facebook has merged the Power Editor and the ads manager into one platform. Now you can do story ads with multiple purposes and multiple objectives I'm going to show you so this is the main reason the second reason is that so I also updated this three step online t shirt business course in which I explain how you can use the new ads manager. But I also wanted to shoot this video and put it in that course as a bonus video also because well You can do t shirt ads in Instagram feed from the mobile app, which you can see in another video.

You can do Instagram story ads from the Facebook Ads Manager. Now, things have changed as I told you. So, I'm going to show you in this demo account I have with digital lifestyle. So this is how it looks. If you go into business manager. If you don't have a business manager, you have to create one and your Facebook pages at the payment method.

Put in your VAT, some information about your business and so on. It's not that complicated. Facebook is there to help you. You can there's the step by step guide you can use. So after you created business manager, you go into ads manager. So I opened this up and here you can see Business settings audiences ad manager.

And here you have a lot of old things you can install your pixels and your billing and you can import audiences catalogs so on. But for the purpose of this video, I'm going to go into ads manager which looks like this. And I'm going to create a Instagram story it just to show you how you can do it for any kind of story ad or if you're in my T shirt business course I can do a T shirt ad for your products. So hit create, and the first thing you have to choose is your objective. I told you in videos before how the Facebook objectives work, awareness and consideration for cold traffic and conversion for remarketing and people who actually want to buy that's more useful. with warm audiences and hot audiences, so creating a story ad basically you can choose any of these objectives, brand awareness reach traffic conversions, you cannot choose three you cannot choose the engagement.

You cannot choose catalog sales and store visits. So these three type of objectives you cannot choose for us for an Instagram story, I'm going to show you let's go into brand awareness. So brand awareness I will hit Continue. This is where I select the audience I'm going to show you right here I'm going to go for the United States just to see how many Instagram users are in the United States. And I'm going to scroll down to placement. To hit Edit placements, and I'm going to choose stories.

And as you can see, there are like 77 million people who watch Instagram stories in the United States, which is absolutely mind blowing. So, this is how it looks like. And I'm going to go back to the objectives and go for engagement Okay, you have page likes post engagement event responses, three, so called engagement types. You cannot use any of that. So, let me show you are going to hit Continue. Go down to placements, go to Edit placements and you can see I cannot choose stories because with this objective, I cannot create a story yet.

Okay, so we cannot use me engagement. You can use installs, video views lead generation, even messages Let me check. No, you cannot use messages. So you cannot use engagement you cannot use messages. You cannot use catalog sales and store wizard. Let me just go back and let's create a traffic so sending people to a specific website or landing page.

I'm going to hit Continue. As you can see, I can choose where to send the traffic to your website to an app or to messenger. I can choose here. Let me choose the placements and I'm going to select stories. As you can see Facebook automatically unchecks the other forums why because for story as you know, you need vertical videos so people can see that that way. So let me go as you can see in Romania, there are 2 million people watching between the ages of 18 and 65.

I mean go to 13. So there are 2.3 million people watching Instagram stories here in Romania. After you select the placement, you go to the budget, it says like a $20 budget. Then you go to the actual ad. And here you can choose, you can choose Facebook page and the Instagram page. You have to remember if you're doing Instagram ads from the Facebook Ads Manager, your Facebook page and Instagram page has to be connected.

It's a really simple process. You can do it fairly easily with within the app or from desktop as well. So after you choose which page you want to advertise from, you can choose the format, you can upload up to six images, or you can upload a video. Okay, I want to scroll down and talk about how you your video should look like. So the recommended length is 15 seconds, it has to be vertical nine by 16 aspect ratio. Sound you have to remember that if you put music or if it's a talking video, you have to make sure that your ad the words with sound off and people will understand your ad even without sound.

Why? Because if you turn the sound off on your phone as somebody is viewing Instagram stories in your head pops up, it will not use the audio. So your ad has to be working without sound. People need to understand what that ad means without sound that's really important. And you can see you can upload mp3 and movie or GIF files. The resolution of the picture can be the minimum is 600 pixels and the Size is four gigabytes.

So that's pretty obvious. Here, you can put in the landing page. So maybe I want to send somebody to my Etsy shop. I was like the URL. You can select what type of call to action. Listen now download, apply now.

Learn more. It's totally up to you. And of course, you can set up a facebook pixel or app event tracking. It all depends on how well you want to Track your ads. So that's about it after you're done you uploaded your creative your video or picture, image or images, you just hit the Confirm button and you're ready with your Instagram story ad campaign. Now let's recap so if you want to do an Instagram story ad for your business for your T shirt business for any other reason you have to choose from these objectives you go into Facebook as my ads manager you you hit Create new campaign and I strongly suggest that if you doing a Instagram and Facebook ad to test to the same audience but tested separately, so you will know what is the return on investment in Instagram ads and what the return on investment in Facebook ads and test the Instagram story ads Berkeley wants more.

Why? First of all, because the creative does not match with the creative on Facebook and the creative Instagram feed, Instagram Stories is vertical remember that. So you can choose from all these objects objectives except engagement messages, catalog sales and store visit. After you're done you can put here the message you can edit the placement you will choose, obviously Instagram stories. I cannot choose because I chose in it, the objective of okay lead gen, let's go lead gen good placements and edit placements and you can see Instagram stories. Okay, so this is really important.

Don't remember the video required elements that the nine by 16 ratio 15 seconds or up to six images you can use in the end. Make sure that your ad is understandable with without sound. Of course you can add sound because it has more effect and make sure that in those 15 seconds you can promote your T shirt or whatever product or service that it will catch the eyeballs of somebody who views Instagram stories because you know, your ad that 15 seconds is really captivating.
