So now I'm gonna go and work on here in the little center of this flower here. What I'm going to do is put down a first layer of yellow. So I'm going to take some Hansi yellow and mix it with a little bit of yellow ochre. And on my brush, I'm just going to dab it all the way around the center here with a series of little dabs. Then I'm going to rinse my brush and I'm going to go in here with the set via pull it over here to the side. With a very sharp point of my brush, I'm going to go around on the areas I'm just going to try and hit some of these areas that I didn't add the yellow to.
So the white of the paper just enough to darken it. And I'm going to leave it just like that. I want to come back in here with my darker green and work on the stem again, and this time I'm just going to pull some strings down. I'm going to come back and pick up a little more of this deep green. Get a little bit of concentrated pigment on my brush. And just on one side and good pull down some more striations go and rinse off my brush, pick up this lighter green here, a permanent green.
And again, I'm going to make some striations. I'm looking for variation, not trying to blend anything at this point. The only thing I want to make sure is that I don't have a harsh line. anywhere on the stem here, I don't mind a line going up and down but I don't want either a square or a rectangle. I'm going to let this layer dry. We'll come back in and work on our background.
