Some kids simply want to have fun or have an opportunity to spend time with friends. It can be troublesome when a parent isn’t in touch with their child’s goals and continues to push their child with the mindset that they know what’s best for their child. Spend time with your son/daughter and get to know their reasoning behind wanting to play the game. Then you can be in the best position to help support their goals.
Before the season you need to ask these questions to make sure you and your child’s goal or desire to play a particular sport are the same.

What is a good season for them going to look like?
What is their role on the team going to be like?
