You take credit when things go well. It is your child’s experience, not yourrs.  Example: I showed him how to throw that curveball. No, you didn't.
You try to solve all their problems before they become problems.


It needs to be a perfect, and smooth experience. 


 I will go talk to your coach for you. 


 Kids will say my mom will not let me have a problem.


Instead, you can tell them it sounds like you have a problem. I will be glad to spend some time with you to work on how you talk to an authority figure. We can also talk about how you can talk to your coach about the problem you got. Soccer is your thing, now you take care of it.
