DESCRIPTION:
Time after time, parents are seen losing their composure in the stands over the course of the game. What often goes unnoticed is the embarrassment and shame of a player whose parents failed to keep their emotions in check.
All kids need to keep their composure regardless of what takes place on the court. This can be very difficult when an alleged role model, such as a parent, loses self-control.
If things aren’t going well, just encourage them to play through it. Not everything will be perfect while your child is playing and there will be times where things aren’t so pretty.
Teaching your child about having great character and being an example of one will help your child be able to handle the worst parts not just in sports, but at whatever life will throw at them.
Here are 4 ways to practice good sportsmanship from the stands courtesy of liberty mutual’s play positive program:

No-Verbs Cheering - "Whoot Whoot" "Yah" "Woooooo" Wave towels, signs, pom-poms, clap, etc.
