If parents don’t do the research to understand how to make the proper choices for their child’s involvement in youth sports then a great way to shorten the curve and gain the knowledge is to visit parents, athletes, coaches, and administrators that are currently going through the youth sports process or have been through it. Below are four reasons why having a mentor can be extremely beneficial.

Their experiences have helped them develop knowledge of what to do and what not to do. 
People who have been through it usually want to help others have a positive experience through sports.
Your child is too important to allow his/her youth sports experiences to be given up to chance.
