About the Class

Parent program – Navigating your child through sports. An online course for parents of athletes in the K-12th grade.

Get the tools and tips you need to:

  • Make sure you and your child’s sports goals are aligned
  • Make decisions that are best for your child’s long-term development
  • Make the game day a positive one for you and your child
  • Help your child apply lessons learned in sports
  • Know the decisions you are making in youth sports will be beneficial for you and your family

Many parents are spending a lot of time and money in the hope that their child develops the sports-specific skill sets to play at higher levels. Unfortunately, 70% of kids are quitting a particular sport by the age of 13. So, at that point, these skills become rarely used once kids are done playing. Kids quitting sports is a major problem for many reasons including the diminishment of physical activity and greater potential to gravitate to unhealthy lifestyles, as well as lost opportunities at learning life lessons through sports.

The main reason kids quit sports are:

  • It’s not fun anymore
  • Pressure to perform
  • Injuries can result from overtraining due to the pressure to keep up with the masses
  • Their lack of competence beliefs at the sport
  • Time demands

You can help your child develop a desire for sports that comes from within them. As a parent, it is key to realize that the decisions you make in navigating your child through sports will have a big impact on whether their experience is positive or negative. Most parents of young children want to guide their child in youth sports so they have fun, develop great friendships, and have long-term success in and out of the sport. But, sometimes they don’t know the best way to do it. We created the navigating your child through youth sports to teach you exactly how to do just that by giving you the tips and tools you need to develop a plan that will help your child enjoy their sports experience and move in the direction of their goals. We want you to feel confident about the role you play in your child’s guide in the youth sports journey.

Coach Jason and Coach Jim have used these exact strategies with parents who have children in sports and their families as well. We share these strategies with you in navigating your child through sports training to help you, your child, and your family have the same positive experience.
