Kelly Mahler has been an occupational therapist for 17 years, serving school-aged children and adults. Kelly is an adjunct faculty member in the department of occupational therapy at Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, PA. She is actively involved in several research projects pertaining to interoception. Kelly is an international speaker and presents frequently on topics related to the seven books she has authored, on interoception.
In this talk, Kelly takes us through an understanding of the ‘eighth sensory system’ why interoception is crucial for self-regulation and some awesome strategies to orient children towards interception sensitivity.
