DESCRIPTION: 
Dr. Marcia Eckerd has been working with people of all ages with Asperger's Syndrome or traits for 25 years. She combines CBT, social skills coaching, and meditation in her therapy practice, and provides consultations to families, schools, advocates, and attorneys. Appointed in 2015 to the Connecticut Autism Spectrum Disorder Advisory Council, she also serves on the AANE Clinical Advisory Group, the professional advisory board of Smart Kids with LD, and the Associate Medical Staff at Norwalk Hospital. Her articles have appeared in professional journals, Autism spectrum news, her psych central blog divergent thinkers, Aspergers 101, smartKidsWithLD.org, and parent magazines. For today’s talk, Dr. Eckerd is speaking to us as a representative of NeuroClastic- a collective of neurodiverse adults cataloging the experience, insights, knowledge, talents, and creative pursuits of autistics.
