I've currently selected a new project. And what we're going to do is take a quick walk through of the menus. So that way you can get acclimated with the different options available. Now, we're not going to walk through every single option available, but just give you a basic outline. So that way you can again, get a little bit of relation and where things are inside Camtasia. It seems like there's going to be dozens, maybe even hundreds of options to your eyes, but we're going to break it down to very basic things.

Now, number one, you're going to see right here that this is your display screen. In fact, what you can do is you can even add in media by dragging and dropping it or you can click on Import Media. Or as well you can go over to File, Import and click media there as well. So I'm going to import a quick video, so that way you can get an idea of what's going on inside Camtasia. I'm going to draw Drag and drop it to the play screen. So that way you can see that this is where we view our objects.

And we're able to quickly zoom in and out, whatever we need, in whatever way, this will allow us to move around as a hand. This will allow us to move the screen itself around as you can see, and if we hold Ctrl, again, can move around with that and press fit. And that's going to bring it exactly to the middle of our screen. So with that, there's a few main criteria that you should get to know and that is the menu up top, the top bar menu file is going to have most of your common objectives for creating new projects, opening recent ones or saving the project. There's also the ability to export as different media functions, but that's actually not how you're going to be processing your videos. We'll get into that just a little bit.

Second, there's edits. And these are a lot of shortcut keys that we'll be going through that allow you to as you can see, undo certain functions, redo them cut and copy parts of your video or pictures or images that you edit inside Camtasia you can separate audio and video, which is just the same as even right clicking. And this is going to give you all the same options as you can see, but on an individual scale for this Oops, sorry for this selected media. So when we right click on it, I separate audio and video you can clearly see that's been done. One is audio one is video. If we even put this disabled track icon which is an icon, you'll see that we no longer can see our video.

If we go over to the audio when it becomes separated, you'll actually be able to increase and decrease the Otherwise, if I just undo that, what you'll normally do is hit Edit audio. And that's going to give you some of these easy features inside. Outside of that your modify is going to be for more of those advanced features. Again, we're going to be getting into each of these different things a little bit later. Just know where they're at. And that's the main idea.

View is going to give you different markers, which you're going to set inside as you record different things. Maybe you remember that you need to go back and make this edit or you need to add in this special link because you mentioned Hey, downloaded this link that's going to be on this page and you point down or you point over, or it's somewhere you say in this video. Adding markers is going to allow you to again be able to go back to those points and find these places that you need to edit or add different media's outside of that you can zoom in on the canvas or out Just as much as you can do here, there are a bunch of lots of different duplications of these keys. Everything that's found inside this menu can almost always be found outside of it as well. So getting used to this entire menu is going to give you every option, like I say, that's available out here through different other ways of accessing these options.

You know, maybe you have to right click on the canvas media, or you have to come over here and you can zoom in and zoom out or fit to the media the same as it is here. Zooming out, clicking back. zooming in. So again, these views are going to give you different views of your timeline of your media, your markers, and a tool of other things such as shortcuts, like I say, the shortcuts I'm going to give you also a list we'll walk through in one video, a whole slew of all these shortcuts. quick explanation of what they do. Share is actually where you're going to be producing your videos, it's not going to be inside file and export.

It's only if you're doing that as a dis as a transportation from maybe a Windows PC to a Mac, and you need to transport these files to another Camtasia operating system. Otherwise, you're going to share and edit and produce the film right here. And you can even upload it right directly to YouTube, Google, Vimeo, screencast, any of these places. And then finally, help is just for you to register Camtasia see different shortcuts that are available, see the different welcome window window and get some of the tutorials on the very basic fun functions of Camtasia which are great for the beginner. But of course, when you want to know the ins and outs of Camtasia you're going to need a little bit more advanced course like this
