In this video, I just briefly want to talk about why your website should be mobile friendly in 2015. and beyond. I know that Google recently made a change here, probably mid 2015, that actually changed how businesses show up in the mobile search results. If your website is not mobile friendly, it's really, really going to hurt your chances of showing up and, you know, search results when people are on their tablets or their cell phones, you know, looking for a local business such as yours. So this is just something that is going to be really, really important. Nowadays, most of the platforms, the couple of platforms I'm going to be talking about are all you know, pretty standard is mobile friendly these days. It's a very common thing.

You know, when you're building any new website nowadays, you know, it's not like back in the 90s, where you're building these sites that just you know, they're not mobile optimized. So this is a huge thing right now. And the biggest reason for that is if you search for any type of local business, if you took, like, for example, the search I showed you earlier with plumbing in my local City, you're going to find that you're going to see those local map listings are going to show up and be really, really apparent on a mobile phone. So you're really, really missing out if you don't have a mobile optimized site. You know, if you're trying to do all these things, maybe you've already got a website, and it's not mobile optimized. And you think to yourself, Well, I'm just going to continue and keep doing all these things that you know, you're going to learn in this course, you're really going to be missing out on potentially 50% or more of the traffic that you could be getting.

I find that when I've run ads, like on places like Facebook, or even just helping some other local businesses, seeing sales from some of my own websites, things like that. A lot of it comes from mobile search, and it's really becoming a big deal. People are on their phones all the time now. So I just cannot stress how important this is. If you have a site that's not mobile optimized that you really should reconsider, potentially having something newer designed, or getting it at least, to become a mobile compatible website.
