An annual heartworm test, along with the annual bloodwork screening mentioned before, another blood test should also be run every year, a heartworm test. heartworms are some of the nastiest, deadliest and most brutal parasites that can infect our beloved furry friends. heartworms infect a patient via the bite of an infected mosquito, making them exceptionally prevalent in warmer climates where mosquitoes thrive. The mosquito will transmit the heartworm micro filia into the bloodstream of the animal, where it will then travel to the heart. Once inside the heart, the micro Fill Area will grow to an adult heartworm and begin to reproduce, adding more microscopic micro filler area to the animal's bloodstream that circulate throughout the body until they to return to the heart and grow to adulthood.
