Welcome to the vital courses signature program for veterinary assistance. In this course, you will learn through videos, worksheets Quizlet, which is an online flashcard study game and hands on practice with your training facilitator. This program has 13 modules, and you should be able to complete the entire course within eight to 10 weeks, you can access your course materials on your phone or your computer or your tablet. We hope you enjoy your learning experience and your new role as a veterinary assistant. As a veterinary assistant, you will care for animals in the animal hospital or clinic. You will be working under the supervision of a veterinarian, practice manager or lead veterinary technician.

In this course, you will learn to obtain and record patient case histories, collect specimens and perform laboratory procedures provides specialized nursing care, prepare animals instruments and equipment for surgery, assist and diagnostic medical and surgical procedures, expose and develop radiographs or x rays, and advise and educate animal owners. As a veterinary assistant, you will support the veterinarian and or the veterinary technician in their daily tasks. You may be asked to perform kennel work, assist in the restraint and handling of animals, feed and exercise to animals or spend time on clerical duties.
