Next song in the key of A is one that I call Robert Johnson blues and the key of A and what I'm going to do here is combined a bunch of basic Robert Johnson licks that you hear him play on his songs in the key of A. And a lot of these come from a tune called Little queen of spades. And so let me play this for you. I've got three verses worth and introduction and an end tag and we'll learn all of this after we get the basic chords down. So here's Robert Johnson blues in a What I call Robert Johnson blues and a is simply a slow Robert Johnson style song in the key of A and I've thrown in a bunch of different basic Robert Johnson licks for you to figure out and learn. So the song gives you you know, a context to play it in the courts.
We're going to use a long a shape and we're going to use In a couple different ways throughout the song, we're also going to use this A, which is a little different, what I'm doing is really the same shape as a D chord. So if we have our D chord here, our D major on the first, second and third strings, we're just going to move every finger over one. And then we're going to play it between the fifth and the sixth frets. So my first finger is on the fourth string at the fifth fret. My second finger is on the second string at the fifth fret, and then my ring finger is on the sixth fret of the third string. We've got our open fifth string bass.
And we could play that open. First string in there too. So that is an A chord. You may have seen that and thought, what is that? It's an A chord. It's just a different way of playing it.
Our D chord is pretty much the same as what we learned in mockers blues. It's that D seven. We're doing a little face trial and we'll talk about that We'll get to it. And then the only other chord shape that we've got in the song is our E seven, which we've already played before. Again, the trick is on the right hand and also in some of the different little things we're going to do with our left hand, over the chords and in between the courts. So come back Let's learn the introduction to Robert Johnson blues in the key of A
