The introduction from OPERS blues, at least what I played is kind of my version, a simple simplified version goes like this. What I'm doing there is I'm starting from the five which is an E seventh. And I'm just playing these riffs over the seventh. The bass is going to be our open sixth string, muted with our right hand, Paul. I'm kicking this off by hammering on to the first fret of the third string and then starting my monotonic day. And then I'm going to get the open first string, bring my ring finger down on the second fret, third fret of the second string.

So the whole thing Together slowly. I'm gonna take my pinky off kind of like that. And then we're gonna move to this pit position. And what this is, is a shape, we're just moving it up two frets. So now it's an open sixth string, since we're still playing, we got an E bass. And what we're doing here is we're picking this taking our ring finger off and getting the second string.

So it's first string, first string, second string. Bass the whole time. So we've got this going to slide to this lick, which is over the D, this is kind of a D, second position D bar chord and we're playing this double stuff where I'm sliding on the second string from the sixth to the seventh fret. My first finger on the fifth fret of the first string. And my bass when I play over the four is my open fifth string. So we're gonna play the open fifth when we're over the a and also when we're over the D. So we've got this taking my pinkie to the eighth fret of the first string, and then bending up on the bass and then take that pinky off, pick the first string, pick the second string Let the first string open.

Coming back to the first position a CT. And as I put it down picking the second string and the third string. It's a little tricky, but that's what Big Bill broonzy does, he uses that open string in there. So we've got this one more time. Let's take the whole introduction so far. We're gonna go to an East seven. And what I'm doing there is making an E seven shape with the open six base.

And I'm picking first string, second string, first string, like that, and then I'm gonna slide into an A into a long a. And that's how he gets ready to kick in to mockers blues. At least that's my way of doing it. Now the way he does it on the recording is very similar, but he just adds some licks and a little more complicated. Let's start with something simple. Now we'll work up to that.

So we got this all the way through one. Right there, I didn't do the slide. You don't have to do that. I can just play like that, or I can do this. or later, we'll see this where he's going to slide on the sixth string from the second fret to the fourth fret. And then the open fit.

That's one thing when you listen to Big Bill Brown Especially he's got all these little variations that he'll use from or based on the simple licks, the basic licks. So that's why I'm starting out with the basic stuff. So one more time, let's play the introduction and then we'll move into the first verse.
