So, with your guitar and standard tuning, let's talk a little bit about some terminology that we're going to use the tablature that I've created for you, I have tried to make this as simple as possible. And as I teach every song I'm going to be talking about string numbers, fret numbers, and, and some other terms. So let's talk about this. The guitar frets are simply these spaces on the guitar where you're going to put your fingers to put it simply, the fret numbering system starts right here, this is the first fret, second fret, third fret, fourth fret, fifth fret, and so on. The good news is with acoustic blues, you don't go too far up the neck Going to play mostly on what's called the first position in our round. So when I'm talking about the tablet years, I might say put your finger, your third finger or your ring finger on the third fret of the first string.

So this would be right here. What if I say the fifth fret of the third string. So here's the fifth fret 12345, third string. And this I go through the tablature. So as you look through those, I don't, you know, tell you which finger that you're going to use. That's something that you'll learn from watching the lessons.

The tablature will tell you which fret you will put the fingers on, and which string whether it be the sixth string to the first string. If you see a zero on the tap, that means it's an open string, so an open sixth string, like that, you just don't read it with your fingers. So you've got your guitar in tune. Those are some simple terms that we're going to be using.
