Flashbacks are the mind’s way of defending us, marking moments when overwhelming experiences leave an impact. Not all flashbacks are huge, not all visual, not all traumatic. It is a vital part of our learning process. When we touch a hot stove, we say... I won't do that again.  When we come close to the hot stove, we remember and don't touch it again. That's why we need flashbacks.

This program offers a helicopter view, giving you a clear map of the three types of flashbacks. You’ll discover their origins, understand their purpose, and gain practical strategies to manage them. You’ll feel prepared, confident, and no longer caught off guard when they arise. The program's premise is that experiences become resolved when integrated rather than merely coped with. Another premise is that integration comes naturally when we feel safe. Thus, the group is a listening group because it doesn't tell you what to do because you will find that when you clear the emotional debris. Some of us with PTSD have major obstructions due to the complexity of the situations we deal with. This, however, is an opening rather than a closing. By increasing the capacity of our awareness and clarity, we drop our defense operating system and return to the growth system we left behind some time ago.

The program's format is trauma-informed. The next videos will be available after the previous class, and participants will have time to view the video and take the quiz before joining the Zoom call. Support is immediate if needed, but the Zoom call will allow us to support each other in our work.

The program is ready for you, but is the timing right? Self-management is our goal, but as the facilitator, I must talk with you before the beginning to see if taking the program now will help you or cause a crisis. I will ask these questions in our Zoom interview...
