DESCRIPTION: Ok, now you need to forget about writing a book and see the book in parts rather than as a whole. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the idea of 65,000+ words. Then you start counting words. Checking word count when you’re writing is like clock watching when you’re working in an office. It makes the time go slower. In the case of the writer, it’s not the quantity that counts it’s the quality. If you are loving whilst you are writing, then the quality will be really good.

A book is a sum of parts. You don’t sit down to write a whole book, you write part of a book. With none fiction books, many of mine started off almost as chapter-like blog posts that were shaped together and had flow put into them after writing them as sections. I have never started a book at the beginning, even my erotic novel ‘Cupcakes and Coffee under the name Rebecca Stone.’
It’s just way too overwhelming to think about writing a whole book. So take the pressure off yourself and forget about the book.
