Hey everyone, I'm gonna walk you through the goal achievement planner now. So this is a spreadsheet that you can download or get through Google Drive by clicking the link. When you do, it'll pop up and ask you to make a copy of it, just click copy, and then it will appear in your own Google Drive or Google Sheets area and you can then manipulate it as you wish. So let me just go over some of the instructions here and what this the sheet is. The purpose of this planner is to help you break down your big dreams into the major milestones that you need to accomplish in order to achieve your dream. And then it will help you calculate how long that will realistically take you.
So fairly simple spreadsheet but I find it very effective for me and helping me plan some of my big dreams and break them down. So first up here on this main page is this this dream page is just fill out the information below. So we'll type our name and our dream Where to, let's say all create an online course. I want to achieve this dream by, we'll say the end of the year, and I'm willing to commit 10 hours a week to do it. Okay? So then we go to milestones.
And this is where you break down the dream into the major milestones. You could have just a few of them or you could get actually as detailed as you want. With this, I said milestones or tasks, because really, you could just plan out the entire you know, everything you need to do to accomplish the dream depending on what it is some dreams you, you may be able to just put into three or four major milestones and that's, that's all you'll need to do. I recommend to start keep it simple. But of course, the more effort and energy you put into it, the more detail you put into it, the more accurate this may end up being. So if we're building an online course first thing we need to do is learn how to create and effective course something like that.
And then we have write an outline of the course content. Then we'll want to record videos for the course. We want to upload the videos to the course platform, write emails, to market, the course, advertise the course, etc. So these are the different major, major milestones. Once we've accomplished each of these, we're like, yeah, I've done something major. Now you could of course, if you're having a course with like six modules, you could break this down and say, recreate the content for module one, create the Convert content for module two.
Depends on the dream you've got and how detailed Do you want to go with it. So we're gonna go to the next column here, which is total hours required depending on how much experience you have estimating this type of work. It may be But difficult to come up with an accurate number here, but just do the best you can. Let's say we'll spend 20 hours learning how to make an effective course maybe we'll attend a seminar seminar or we'll download an online course or rule, just read a few articles online, whatever it is. And then we want to write an outline for the course content. Let's say that will take us, I don't know, 100 hours, let's just estimate here recording the videos 20 hours, I don't know, I'm just going to throw in some number 10 for the rest of them, I don't know what it is.
And then the date that you want to complete it by, well, we said we're going to spend 10 hours per week committing to this. So that would actually be in two weeks. So you can just put two weeks from today, you know, and just kind of estimate it that way. Or you can you know, stretch it out however long you want. This this date column isn't actually used for anything in this spreadsheet. It's just to help give you a reminder of when your milestone wins.
Want to actually complete your milestones like a goal, I'm going to get this done by whatever date. Now you'll notice here it says, hours remaining, and percent complete. So if we say, let's say we've, we've been working on this a little bit, maybe we've, we've learned how to create an create a course we're kind of 50% through the course on how to do that. And maybe I actually already started kind of drafting the content, maybe I'm like 10% done with that. And then over here, it calculates how many hours you have remaining for this milestone. Okay, now, here's where the magic happens.
If you go to the results page. Then you can see it says it's going to take you a total of 170 hours to complete your goal. And you have 150 hours remaining. So that means we've worked 20 so far right? We have with these percentages. Now, this will also tell you how many days it will be until your desired completion date.
So we have a date here. The date you want to achieve the dream by whatever you put there based on whatever day it is today, it will calculate how many days you have left. This field tells us how many average hours we need to work per day in order to hit our goal. So it's only point four, we actually won't need to work necessarily the 10 hours per week. You know, it would be less than an hour a day that we we'd been needing to work to hit that goal. And the average hours needed per week would be 2.9 hours per week rather than 10.
Based on the numbers we put in, so minimum weeks required to achieve the goal would be 15. You could do it in just 15 weeks. It won't take you a year. And then it says the earliest you can achieve your goal would be whatever date that is it says April 22. And then it says congratulations, it looks like you're well on your way to achieving your goal by the desire date. You're set to accomplish your goal 253 days early.
So that's great though that kind of gives you an idea of whether you're on track to finishing all of these milestones within the goal date that you set. Now let's do something more challenging. Let's say I want to up Today is January 7. So let's say I want to, I want to finish this by January 31. And then over here, or let's say this is going to take like 1000 hours for this one. Okay, so now it says, you know, there's 100 and or 1160 hours to complete the goal.
We have this many left. And we only have 24 days to do it. So it's it actually would need to work 47 hours a day to hit the goal. Obviously, that is totally unrealistic. And it's a sorry, Brandon looks like your goal is a little bit optimistic. You're set to accomplish your goals 774 days after your desired date, either commit to working more hours, adjust your milestones, or extend your desired achievement date.
So again, This is something that you can use when you're starting to plan a new dream and to help you see the different steps you've got to take in order to accomplish it and then show showing you how realistic it is for you to be able to do it by the day you want. So I hope you find this helpful and that you're able to use it when planning your own dreams.
