Hey everybody, its Brandon Pierce, welcome to Module One of the dream achievement blueprint. Congratulations, you made it, you're here, I hope you're ready to dig in and dive in and go deep with these topics that are really going to help you gain more clarity, and more insight into how you can achieve your dreams and live your vision and your goals. So today, the main topic is clarity. And I'm going to teach you five things that are really essential in order to help you develop this clarity. So you can use what you gain here effectively in the following lessons. And the other thing I want to teach you about today, or at least reiterate the importance of his momentum, goal achievement is kind of like a ball rolling down a mountain or a big rock rolling down a mountain.
Because, you know, if you're if you're a big rock, imagine yourself as big heavy rock and you're just sitting there. It's so hard to get momentum to get moving right and toward anything that you want to do. You might set a goal you might set a dream you might roll Little bit. But if you can get rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling, and get that action, get that momentum going, then even if you hit up against an obstacle, you'll change course, you'll shift direction, you'll find another way to look at the problem. And you'll keep rolling. And maybe you'll end up in a slightly different place than what you're thinking of now.
But it will be the right place for you. Because along the way, you're going to be applying the principles and the practices and the techniques that I'll be teaching you in this lesson. So it'll be a rewarding experience for you all along the way, and also at the end when you get there. So I'm going to be encouraging you a lot throughout this video, to take those first few steps towards your dreams, and to keep going even if there are some things that are unclear. But what we're going to do today is really try to help you get clear so you can see where you're going and see where you want to go. And again, even if it changes course even if you end up over here, you'll know that that's where you need to be.
So that's what we're that's what we're gonna talk about today, clarity and momentum. Now you may already have an idea in your mind of what you want to achieve, you already may have a big dream and a big goal that you're striving for. Or you may not, you may really have it have maybe a few things that you're kind of interested in, but you don't really know. You know which one you want to focus on next. And that's okay, because in this module, we're going to go through a lot of different exercises to help you get clear on that. Whether you want to travel the world long term with your family like I do, or start a business, or whether you just want to develop a new habit or a new skill, learn a musical instrument, lose a little weight, whatever it happens to be for you.
You're gonna figure that out for yourself today, in much more clarity than you probably ever have. And my goal is to help you in this training, feeling so much more confident about your ability to achieve it, and to start getting you in that flow of momentum so you can keep moving through even when the hard things come up. Now, when I launched my business, around 15 years ago, it was with the intention to become financially independent, I saw some people that I cared about, lose their jobs, not after having done anything wrong, but just because of company downsizing and corporate culture. And I realized there's no such thing as job security when you work for somebody else. So I decided, for me for my family, what I wanted was financial independence, I wanted my family to be taken care of, no matter what happened to me.
And I had already made this little program to help me keep track of my piano students, because you know, they were coming late to their lessons, or they were forgetting to bring a payment, and they didn't know how much they owed, then I didn't know how much they owed, because it was so hard to keep track of all that stuff. So I made a simple program to make it easier for me to manage the billing and their scheduling. And then I thought, well, this is an opportunity. I could turn this into a business, see if anyone else wants it. And maybe this could be the key to my family's financial independence. So I began working super hard at this Get up early, I'd stay up late, I really kind of pushed my throat off, push myself through an almost really beat myself up over it.
I wasn't treating my health or my social relationships, even my family relationships, as good as I could have in the process of building this business. And it took years to get off the ground. Because I also had no idea what I was doing as a business owner. I knew nothing about marketing, I knew nothing about customer support. Well, I knew I actually knew a bit about customer support because I had worked in customer support. I knew a little about programming, obviously, because I was writing it.
But everything else I had to learn. And it took time. But the persistence that I had and continuing to work through was only made possible because of the vision that I had. I had the clarity about what I wanted what my goal was, I wanted financial independence. I wanted my family to be taken care of, no matter what happened to me. So when things didn't go right when I only had like five customers or whatever it was in my first year.
I wasn't discouraged, because I had a vision and I kept pushing through to achieve it. When your vision is clear enough, when you have a strong enough why it can pull you through. And your house may change along the way, the way you do things, the direction you take may change. But it's like, like a chord that kind of pulls you up, you know, like it's on a on a spring or a weight on the other end, it just keeps pulling you to it when that's strong enough and when you keep that in the forefront. So these are some of the things we're going to talk about today in a bit more detail. But before we do that, I want to talk a little bit about the downside of having a vision and maybe focusing on it too much.
A few years into our travels after we'd sold our house and everything and I've been living basically the four hour workweek because I had a business now that I could run from anywhere in just a few hours a week. And my amazing team could continue working to build it and grow it at this stage. Life was awesome. I won't deny that. And we were having a blast experiencing other cultures, meeting new people, expanding our minds, and really bonding as a family in a way that I had never been able to do before. But at the same time, I noticed a little problem.
And that is a problem with my mind that I had become so future focused, that even after achieving my dreams, my mind wasn't really stopping to fully appreciate where I was now. I wasn't satisfied. I just wanted more. I wanted to keep going. I want to say, well, what's next? What's next, what's next.
And while I think it's always good, to be continuing to improve and grow your life, if you don't have the capacity, don't take the time. Don't train your brain to slow down and to stop and to appreciate what is good and amazing and wonderful about your life right now. That when you get there To that dream that you have, you're still not going to be appreciating and grateful of what you have at that time, because you haven't trained yourself to get there. So some of the stuff we're going to talk about is about how you can do that how you can build, not just doing I mean, doing is great you got to do in order to get your goals. But you also have to be, and I've been in places where I've just, I'm just being, you know, I'm not doing anything, and it feels wonderful and blissful.
But after months and months of feeling like I'm not doing anything productive, I'm not doing anything to serve anyone else. I'm not contributing anything to the world. I'm not developing myself, other than for myself. It felt like that wasn't imbalanced for me either. I wanted to do, and I loved to be. But what I needed to learn was how to infuse the being into my doing, so that I can at the same time, both be present both be fulfilled both be enjoying my life, and aware of everything that's going on around me.
But at the same time, also be doing and moving toward the things that are important to me. I hope that makes sense. And if not, hopefully, it'll make sense by the end of the training. Because this is really an important piece. I don't want you to miss this, I don't need to go through life. Just so focused on getting your goals, neglecting everyone around you and everything around you.
And not being grateful about the process and the steps along the way because life is beautiful. And all along the way, there are things to appreciate and things to enjoy. And it's really important that we do that. Because we're not here just to cultivate just to help you achieve your dreams, but really to help you create a fulfilling and beautiful life for yourself. And the tools and the practices that are in this training are going to show you how to do that. So I hope you're ready to dive in.
Let's get going. So the first thing that you need in order to gain clarity about your goals and your vision His desire, you have to want something has to be something that you are reaching for. And then you have to be clear about what that is. Now, there's some philosophies out there that say, desire is bad, you know, desire leads to suffering, because if you want something, and it's taken, then you get it and it's taken away, then that creates suffering. And there may be some validity to that. But I also like to think that, that desire also brings a whole lot of joy and a whole lot of wonderful feelings.
And I think maybe it's not quite possible to get the good without the bad. You have to be willing to open yourself to all experiences in life. So don't be afraid to want something. Don't be afraid to have a desire to have a big dream. And then once you have that dream, it's important to get clear about what specifically that dream means. So for example, if you say, I want to lose weight, I just want to be thin or you know, I just want To be rich, you don't want to have lots of money.
Those kind of goals aren't really goals are no, they're their wishes because they're not defined. If you want to lose weight, how much weight Do you want to lose? What is your ideal weight? What? How many pounds? How many kilos Do you want to weigh?
And then make that your goal? If you want to be rich? That's great, but how much money do you want to have in your bank account? How much cash flow Do you want coming in to your life each month? What kind of properties or assets Do you want to own? Those are the types of things specifically if you can define if you can be clear about that.
It sets you more on the path to be able to plan how you're going to get there. So there's a worksheet that I have attached as part of this training that I would like you to download and and go through the questions that are there. And some of those are going to give you an opportunity to think about this for you. And to think what is it that I really want, you know if I if I could have if I had millions of dollars, billions of dollars and ultimate time, freedom what What I do with my life? You know, those are the types of questions I love to ask myself or things like, you know, just on a more simple level What? What am I curious about what I like to learn more about what would I like to do now if I haven't, you know, a little more time, a little more choice, which you do and you can create for yourself.
But Think, think about that. And if you write down what you're interested in, what you want, get clear about it, go deep with it is detailed as you can. It'll help create a good foundation for you to start moving. Alright, second thing we're going to talk about today is purpose. And this is really the question why do you want what you want? Are you clear on that?
Why do you want to be rich? Why do you want to lose weight? Why do you want to learn to play the violin? You know what, what is drawing you to those things? You may not know why there may not be a clear answer. But I think if you ask yourself this question and really take some time to think about it, you'll, you'll have an answer you, you'll gain more clarity on it.
And again, this is something that the worksheet will help you through when you download it. And I think it's really important that you do this to really take the time to think well, with with all my goals, but especially the main goals that you want to focus on in the coming while what are all the I mean, list as many reasons as you can for why you want to do it. And then once you have that answer as to why you want what you want to do yourself another favor and ask why you want that go another level deeper. You know, why do you want a million dollars? So I can buy a big house? Why do you want to buy a big house so I can, whatever it is for you.
So keep going keep asking why, like an annoying four year old, you know, let that party you go out again, and I keep asking why until you get down to The route and usually what that turns into, is the third point that we're going to talk about today. Feeling. How do you want to feel? How do you think this goal achieving this goal will make you feel in your life because as human beings, we like it or not, we're driven by emotion are driven by feelings. And if we are aware of the emotions that we're trying to cultivate in our lives, we can take conscious steps to create those feelings more in our life, not just only achieve the goal, but all along the way, which leads to a much more fulfilling life. This is super important.
I hope you're getting this because, you know, we think we're logical creatures. We think, Oh, I'm I'm doing this because of these reasons. And that's, you know, when you're answering those purpose questions, you're getting in your logical brain and you're writing here's why I want this. But if you can tune, tune in deeper tune in to your feelings, tune into your sensations that are in your body, how you want to feel what is missing. What do you want to integrate? Release.
And if you can gain clarity on that, your motivation is going to skyrocket because you're not gonna have to convince yourself mentally to get to work and do the things that are going to lead you towards your goal, you're naturally going to be pulled there, because it's just what you want so much. And you know, it's there, and you're bringing these feelings in your life and it feels so good, and you just want more of that. So get clear on what feelings you want to feel in your life. Maybe having more money will help you feel secure. It will help you feel safe. Maybe it will help you feel powerful.
Maybe that's the emotion you want. Maybe it'll help you feel more gentle. Maybe you want to feel more generous in your life and like you can give more. Your main motivation could be one or any or all of these are a whole bunch of different other things. But what is it for you? What is the emotion?
What are the main emotions that are driving you to want to achieve the goal that you're thinking about? Again, this is something the worksheet will give you a chance to answer But I wanted to bring it up here and pointed out so that you can have this in your mind as you're going through it. And then to get even more clear on that, we're gonna go to Step four, and talk about vision. This is one of the most powerful exercises that I have done to help me achieve my goals, and to gain clarity on what it is that I want. This is where you write, in detail your story of success. So what I want you to do is close your eyes.
You do it now if you want, but especially before you write this in the in the worksheet, I want you to close your eyes. And just imagine that you have achieved the dream that you wanted to achieve. You're there you're living it, you've done it. Put yourself in that space. Imagine how does it feel? What are the sensations I'm feeling in my body?
You know who's around me. What am I doing? Thinking about what am I feeling. And then from that place, I want you to look back back into the past toward where you're sitting, or standing or whatever right now. Maybe it's a year away, maybe it's a month away depends depends on what your goal is, and your vision, but look back at your life through the past, we'll say a year from now. And tell the story of how you got from where you were, as you sit in this present moment to where you are now envisioning yourself having achieved your dream.
And tell the steps along the way. Talk about the struggles that you faced along the way what challenges came up, that maybe you didn't expect, and then what solutions that you come up with to overcome those challenges. What they You have to sacrifice in order to make this goal come true for you. What hopes Did you have at the beginning? What did you want to have happen? And what changed a little bit along the way?
What kind of things did you need to study? or learn about in order to achieve your dream? Well, is there anyone you needed to reach out to for support or for mentorship? Was there a moment where you kind of just felt like, like giving up like, Oh, it's just too hard and too many obstacles came in too many distractions came in too many things happen, that you are almost on the cusp of giving up, but then something happened. And you made a new commitment and remembered what your vision is, and you How did you pull through those challenging times? So these are all questions that Yeah, I know you're, you're envisioning something.
It hasn't happened yet. Right. But by putting yourself in this imaginary place on the way to your dreams, helps you foresee what might happen. It helps you prepare for some of the challenges that might come up, it helps you prepare for the emotions and also helps you helps put you in a frame of mind to where you're going to be feeling how you want to be feeling, and you're going to be in a place is much more likely to achieve your goal than if you hadn't done the exercise at all. In fact, I really think this exercise is essential to achieving goals with this kind of clarity. Because if you don't know what you want, how you want to feel, or how you're going to get where you want to go, how are you going to do it, you're going to lose momentum, you're going to burn out.
And when those challenges come, you're not going to say Oh, I know how to handle that because I already figured that out when I was doing this vision exercise. And so they'll derail you and you'll get thrown off. So this is super powerful this exercise and I hope you'll take a significant amount of time and put a significant amount of energy into it so that you can get the benefits from this. Now the fifth thing We're going to talk about today is your plan. What are the milestones along that journey from start to finish? What are the major milestones along the way that you're going to hit to where you can say, Wow, look at that I've, I've made progress.
I've accomplished something. If you could define what those are, and then set kind of a way that you want to celebrate each milestone, give yourself something to look forward to. So that when you get to that place of having accomplished the goal, you get rewarded, and then you get even more excitement and momentum to move forward to the next one. And this also gives you a chance to kind of plan a timeline. Like how long do you think it'll take you to get to this milestone, what's a, what's a date, a goal that you're setting for yourself? I'm going to hit this milestone by this date.
And once you have that, you'll be able to look at what steps you'll need to take in order to hit that goal. And you're able to start start planning. So right now, me are still in the process of deepening clarity about our goals. We're envisioning what we want. we're deciding what's important to us, we're getting clear, clear on how we want to feel. And we're going to soon start building the habits into our life, to help us get there to help us move through to help us feel how we want to feel, and to help us plan in a really clear and effective way so that we're not side rails and we're not derailed, but we're able to stay focused.
For the purposes of this lessons exercise, you know, you can just write the milestones down, maybe set a date, but the more detailed you can get, again, at all of these exercises, the more detail you can get, the more clarity you're going to have. And the more motivation and momentum you'll be able to develop as you move through towards your goals. So I would encourage you, when you're writing your milestones, to break them down even further and say, Well, what are the steps that I would need to take to achieve that milestone Maybe you can put some dates for those as well. And in fact, along with this training, I have also included another worksheet, which you'll see it's called the goal achievement planner. And this gives you a chance to set a date. And it's so important to set that date because it gives you something to shoot for.
If you don't have a date, then it just is you're more likely to flounder. So this spreadsheet will you'll open it up, you'll type in your name, you'll type in your goal, you'll set a date. And you'll also set a commitment to how many hours per week you're willing to work toward this goal. How much time are you going to invest in accomplishing this dream that's so important to you and will have such profound meaning in your life. And then on the next tab, you'll be able to enter in your milestones. And you can put in the tiny steps if you want or you can just put in the major milestones, it's up to you.
And then estimate how many hours it'll you think it'll take you to complete each of those milestones. You can also put in Expected due date or a goal date by which you want to accomplish them by. And then on the next tab, this is kind of fun Magic Sheet, spreadsheet magic here, it calculates how much time it's going to take you to complete your goal. And based on how many hours per week, you're willing to work on it, whether it's realistic, whether your goal for accomplishing this dream is realistic or not. And if it, if it is awesome, you're on your way, get pumped up and get moving. If it's not realistic, then you have a few choices.
First of all, you could extend your due date, realize it's gonna take me a little longer than I thought. Or you could increase your weekly commitment. So if you're willing to commit three hours a week to work on this skill, maybe you want to commit five or 10 hours a week. It's gonna depend on the other commitments you have in your life. And again, back to that question of what you might have to sacrifice in order to reach this goal. But this is that's a personal decision for you.
But the other Other thing that you might want to consider is, rather than shooting for the entire goal, by the due date shoot for one of the milestones. So if your goal is to lose 100 pounds in a year, maybe you think that's going to be too hard. So shoot for 50. Just some options to consider when you're thinking about your goal and your timeline. And what's realistic for you, because you don't want to overburden yourself, you want to challenge yourself so that you are moving in a way that's going to help you grow. But you don't want to do it so much to the point where you feel floored and you get demotivated because your goal is too difficult.
So that's what this goal achievement planner spreadsheet is designed to help you with is to help you figure out whether your goal is realistic and the timeframe you want. So I encourage you to pull that down and to plug in some some stuff in there and see how that works for you. And if it gives you some extra clarity. Now I know you're busy, and I know some of you might be thinking man, it's gonna take some time to fill out all these sheets and to think about all this stuff and write all these these things. down. And yes, it will take time.
But it is really an essential part of the process for you to be able to gain this clarity so that you can have, again that foundation to build on. And to give you the momentum to move forward. And really filling out these worksheets shouldn't take you more than a couple hours tops. You know, if you want to plan one hour for answering the questions and writing your story, and another hour for planning out your milestones, that's cool. However you want to work it, you could probably fill it out in 10 minutes if you really went quick, but I don't think you'll get the same value out of it. So I really encourage you to put in the time and effort to make this meaningful for you.
And you have a choice, right? You can stay where you're at. You can keep doing the same things that you're doing. Or you can try something different. And I invite you to trust in this process to give it a chance and see how much more clarity it brings to your life. And I promise you if you put in your effort to do this, if you really dig deep inside yourself and write down This stuff down, you are going to gain more clarity and you are going to feel so much more confident in your ability to achieve your goals.
No one really achieves their dreams without some level of effort of work, right? It does take effort to accomplish our goals. So don't be afraid of work. Don't be afraid of getting into digging in. The rewards that you get from doing this will be well worth it to you. So go ahead and download the worksheet and the spreadsheet right now.
And if you have time right after this call, go ahead and dive in. Enter the questions fill out the spreadsheet. If you don't have time right now, if you got something else scheduled, please open your calendar right now. And look at your next week and sometime within the next week. Schedule a block a one or a two hour block to give yourself the time to fill out this sheet and to do this work. And while your calendars open.
I also want you to schedule a recurring task, one of the repeats every single day for the next week. And I only want you to schedule maybe 10 minutes, 15 minutes for this depending on on your story, but what I want you to do every single day, I want you to commit to reviewing your success story that you're going to write. Just read it, just read it, kind of feel into it. If you see something that you kind of want to change, feel free to change it and alter it as you go. Because this is a dynamic story. It's a story of your life.
And as you begin living as you begin living this dream, and as your as maybe a different challenge came up than you expected. You can write that into your story and how you overcame it. And I'm not saying you have to review this daily for everyone, but you don't have to do anything I asked him you to do. But especially this first week, I recommend reviewing it every single day so that you can refine it and hone it in and make it more clear and make it part of yourself after that. If you want to keep doing daily. That's awesome.
Otherwise, at least please schedule a weekly recurring event to review your story. And this will keep it fresh in your mind. It keeps your vision There, it keeps the momentum going. It keeps that string polling you up toward your vision. And then the third thing I want you to do on your calendar is to schedule the next day and time that you're going to watch the next training. And in that training, we're going to talk about productivity, and helping with several different skills and tools and techniques to make you more efficient and effective in actually taking action on these goals.
Congratulations again, for being here for taking the time to invest in yourself and your own education in ways that are going to improve your life significantly. You can totally do this and I'm so excited to see you achieve your dreams. So go ahead, download the worksheets, fill them out or schedule a time to fill them out. Schedule recurring task to remind you to review your story every single day for the next week. And then schedule a time to watch the next training. And I promise if you do these exercises, you'll gain insights into your life that will have an impact now Not just in your personal life, but in your relationships and how you feel as well as in helping you actually achieve the dreams that you set out to do.
So go ahead and download those. Those worksheets get started and we'll see in the next training
