While we were discussing the factors of creating your beginning of your day through five minute tasks, something that can be done in five minutes or less, I did tell you that you want to usually only do one to two things of those five minute tasks. And the reason that I even allow two is because it's less than five minutes, it's not going to be something that's 30 minutes here, 30 minutes there, and you're trying to mesh them together inside 40 or 50 minutes. So that's the reason that multitasking at that level works. But outside of that, it's the one at a time rule. All right. So the one at a time rule literally is just as it sounds, you're coming through, you're going to get just one task at a time.

I get that you may have multiple things going on. There's a whole slew of things that We need to do as business owners every day to take care of. But what you need to do is start organizing all of these things together and start going, Okay, so this is going to be 12345, and then six. And once you start having that, then you can start placing, and tracking things around. Again, we're just going through, here's one, here's two. Here's five.

Here's six. So we're trying to just get these things in order for ourselves to be able to start working on these tasks right here now. So when you do that, now that you have these things organized, in a sense of, Hey, I'm going to start with this today. This is my star topic. You're not going to all right, at all I'm saying even if you got five minutes Just switch between a task and start on start on number two or number three or something else that's next, do not do that this temptation is going to actually save you a lot of effort and frustration, because what you are needing to fill inside of here is additional five minute tasks that come up. There's going to be dozens of these, if you have any free time, and you're going to multitask, which really doesn't work except in the sense of you have a five minute task.

If I'm going I'm posting on Facebook, and this page is loading really slowly, you know, Facebook business side or Facebook manager, I get it, the ads may take up to a minute or two to load. So go over 10 off a quick email while you're waiting for that. Then come right back the pages loaded you're back into the normal set or rhythm that you're doing. But here's the issue when you start doing one thing, and then you wrap a second In. That's what's gonna end up happening, you're going to end up doing these things. I don't know if you guys understand what that means.

This is the infinity symbol means you're going to be working on these two things forever. Because you're switching back and forth between them. You're going, Okay, well, this stop for a second. So I need to go over here. And you know, this stop for a second. So I need to go back over here.

And you flip between things so much that it really burns you out quick, your productivity will just hit the floor with the ability of things that you get done and how well you feel that you've gotten things done. See, if I spent a straight hour on something, it's going to be a lot more efficient than if I spent 20 minutes on three things. It's just the natural way of how we work as humans. So my rule is, keep your tasks one at a time. Those are your bigger tasks. If you have any free time to fill inside right here.

You know, these are this is You're trying to fill up five minute tasks. That's all you're allowed inside of here. If you have anything that takes over five minutes, just stick to the one thing that you're on right now. That's all you need to be focused on for the hour, the 30 minutes or whatever you've set aside for that main task that you're doing through the day. And I do suggest having one big task within each hour. And if you get that done, then you can move over to the next one.

But guess what, like I said, with a 55? No, that's a terrible five with a 55. If you can't tell, I'm having a little problems with my own cursor with a 5515 then you're going to have six breaks, right? And that's going to end up being seven hours of your day. That's basically what it works out to the last hour of your day will be 55 minutes, you get to stop work five minutes before quitting time. So in those times Six chunks of time, I want you to schedule out six big things that would take about an hour to do for you.

If there's things that take a lot more, that's quite all right, you can schedule it, break it in here, this is going to take two hours, whatever. But with that, handling one task at a time, six big tests in a day, maybe about a dozen small five minute tasks. You're going to feel really good about everything you do each and every day throughout all of your work life.
