That brings us to the end of I promote. This really does seem like a simple structure. But believe me when I say it takes quite a lot of work to get used to both writing it and delivering it, there's a workbook to download that I'd really strongly advise that you work through, take about three hours to do it. A good way to use it is to take a current speech and to rewrite it using the I promote format. I've worked with many clients on their sales and persuasion, and I really enjoy it. But one of the questions I always get it, how does this apply to things where I'm not selling something?
Well, it can very easily be applied. Many of my clients are just standing up making presentations at work within an organization, let's say giving an update on the financials that year. But often they are wanting to persuade people to do something. So they want them to agree with it or Sign it off, or to discuss it or to come up with some decision at the end. And that's where the I promote structure is a very useful one. If you remember that you need to get into rapport.
Even if you're doing the finances, look at increasing the need, and then talk about solution. Get some debate perhaps around that if you're in a meeting, and critically invite people to act, then you will have a very useful structure on your hands. And you will stop wasting time being inefficient in the way that you put forward information to others. If you have any questions about how it applies to other situations, because you're not sure, then just drop me a line you can contact me through my website Celia Delaney code at UK, I'll be delighted to help you understand where this fits within your speaking and persuasion. So that's the end of my promote. Don't forget, take any speech that you have currently and See whether this structure would work better.
Anytime that you're inviting people to take action
