Forehand: Let's get started

First step: In your preparation make sure you have a wide base and good posture. Balance is crucial. As the ball is breaking towards your forehand side quickly prepare your grip and turn from your waist.
Racket Preparation: keep your elbow tucked and the wrist locked back. The racket face should be slightly open as you are creating under-spin.
Right before contact: Make sure your belly button is somewhat perpendicular to the oncoming ball. Keep your hand above the projected ball coming your way as you prepare to cut down and through the shot.
During contact: As you cut through the ball it should feel short and punchy. You want to remain firm and steady at contact.
After contact: Since volleys are meant to be as short as possible there is barely a follow-through so you can quickly get ready for the next shot.
