Hello everybody welcome to Part One of using the wrong preposition. Actually, mistakes are often made by using the wrong preposition after certain words, this listening clues of the words which most often give trouble. Okay, let's start. Are you ready? Don't forget to focus. Let's start with number one using the wrong preposition.

Absorbed, which means very much interested. So we say absorbed in, not at, absorbed in. So don't say the man was absorbed at his work. This is wrong. Say the man was absorbed in his work. This is the correct one.

Okay, perfect. Number two accused of not for so we say accuse off so don't say she accused the man for stealing no no no no. We should say she accused the man of stealing. This is a correct form very nice. And pay attention to this part we also use charge with width so charge takes with for example, the man was charged with murder. Okay, very nice.

Next part number three accustom to not with this is the mistake that many students make in my class in many classes. It costs tend to start don't say I'm accustomed to with hot weather. No, no this Ron, say I'm accustomed to hot weather. I'm accustomed to hot weather. We also actually sometimes use used to, like he's used to the heat. He's used to the heat which means he's accustomed to the heat.

This is another synonym actually, number four. afraid of not from this is the mistake many many many students make when they speak English don't say I'm afraid from so don't say Laura. He's afraid from the dog. Please no. Say Laura is afraid off the dock. This is a correct form.

Do not forget this. Number five aim at not on or against. Aim at so don't say she aimed on against the target no no this is wrong. say she aimed at the target this is a correct one. There are many mistakes that students make. And note use the preposition at to denote direction for example throw out shout at fire at, shoot at but shoot without the ads means to kill.

Like when we say he shot a bird, it means he hit and killed it. This is a very important point number six is anger with not against. Okay so never say the teacher was angry against him. This is wrong say the teacher was angry with him. This is a Form a note we get angry with a person but at a think for example, he was angry at the weather not with it with her. And there's something girls also annoyed with we say annoyed with these are some synonyms for angry or vexed with or indignant with a person but at a think next one number seven is anxious.

We say anxious about not for niversity anxious or something. So don't say they are anxious for his health. No this is wrong say they are anxious about his health. This is a correct bore. They are anxious about his health. This is another big mistakes many students make Note anxious meaning wishing very much takes four for example, parents are anxious for their children's success, which here means anxious wishing very much.

Number eight arrive at not to don't say we arrived to the village at night this is wrong. Say we arrived at the village at night. This is a correct form. Note us arrive in with countries and large cities. For example, Mrs. Sorry Mr. Smith has arrived in London or New York, India etc.

This is a very important point. Number nine ashamed of not from this is another big mistakes they make. So don't say he's in he's now ashamed from his conduct. No, this is wrong say he's now ashamed of his conduct. This is the correct form. There is a note here, it isn't correct to use ashamed of meaning shy.

Ashamed means feeling shame, or guilt about something. Shy means feeling nervous with someone instead of saying, I'm ashamed or ashamed of my teacher say, I'm shy of my teacher. So this is a correct way to say it. And this is a difference between ashamed and shy because some students confuse the difference between these two words. And the last one is belief and not to don't say, I believe too. So don't say we believe to God, no, no, no say we believe in God.

And there is a point here to believe in means to have faith in but to believe without the end means to regard something as true for example, I believe everything he says. This is a difference between actually believe in and there is no preposition like to say I believe in something perfect
