DESCRIPTION: Friendship is not a gift but is the result of hard work. It comes only through committed effort. Friends working together to achieve common goals will ɹnd success easier than those who try to do it alone. Mutual encouragement and accountability make a big difference in how quickly we progress toward our goal. We need to consider what kind of qualities we should look for in a friend, and then endeavor to build those in ourselves so that we too can be good friends.

Truthfulness versus deception. Are we truthful and honest in all our dealings? Is there any deceptiveness in our speech or manner?
Sincerity versus hypocrisy. Are we sincere in our commitment to our friends? Are we committed to their character, or only to what we can get from them? Are we hypocritical, hiding an ulterior motive under the guise of love?
Virtue versus deɹlement. Are we committed to keeping ourselves clean and pure in mind and body? Do we act from the highest motives and most honorable intentions?
