The Core Components of the Mindful Matrix

Once students learn how to create and their own matrix, they can go on and use it anytime. Some use it to problem-solve, others to plan things out, etc. Quite a few will go on and show others (including their parents and guardians).

A very powerful intervention we discovered came from a decision we made to have invite learners to ask and respond to the four questions in pairs. This shared mindfulness practice helps to develop communication skills and enhances and improves their ability to relate to each other. They will go on and do some really interesting and creative things since it really turbocharges psychological flexibility and deepens relationships.

The students really enjoy this activity and learn a lot about themselves and each other in the process.
