In this part of the lesson, we address three other types of rental revenue. Your client may not tell you about these types of revenue and you may never know about them, but you should ask some questions. An IRS auditor may ask the questions if your client's rental properties are audited.

Lease cancellation payments - Should be reported in income any income to let a tenant out of a lease
Expenses paid by the tenant - Should be reported in income any expenses paid by the tenant on your behalf
Property or services received in lieu of rent - Should be reported in income Services must be applied at FMV.
