Okay, before we go into the next practice, I just wanted to share some of the amazing stories about yoga nidra that I have heard and participated in over the years that I personally practice and taught Yoga nidra for one, and I think I may have mentioned this initially briefly in the introduction, but I went into learning Yoga nidra with a lot of stomach issues, a lot of indigestion, a lot of bloating, just problems with digesting my food. And, you know, I come kind of from a family, my father's had a lot of digestive stuff over his life. So I just figured we have gastrointestinal issues, and I just had to deal with it by taking enzymes and so forth. But now see, I landed myself in India, to go to school for yoga, and, boy, the day ingestion really got bad, then the enzymes were all different different bacterias.

And as I found myself in yoga school, beginning this practice, I decided that if this was going to work at all, this is going to be the practice for healing my digestive system. So I began the very first class with I have a fully functioning digestive system that works properly with my son, kalpa, something like that. And every day for about two weeks, I said, the same thing Kalfa. Now to suggested you use the same son culpa until you cannot remember what your son culpa was, and as you're lying there, preparing to do the practice and that syncope is not coming up, then that actually lets you know that you have changed a belief or a pattern that has caused that issue. So it's actually no longer in your conscious mind, either. Well, that happened to me a little less than two weeks in where I laid there.

And it was time to make my son culpa. And I couldn't remember what I was making it. In fact, I had some other idea of something I was going to do. But then I realized that I had been doing it on something the past two weeks, and it quickly came into my mind that for days, so it actually helped, you know, sooner that my digestive system had been working great that I've been feeling good in my stomach that I hadn't had any problems with my food or, or any of that. And that was resolved. And that was let's see.

2005 So it was about nine years ago, and I haven't had any problems since. So a very powerful practice for effecting change something you don't have to keep working on. You know, this is something this Practice is working on deep seated stuff. You know another woman that I worked with for not very long she had very extreme insomnia. so extreme that she was on insomnia medication that would help her get into a sleep state but she was still her body still got up and did things like her mind, parts of her mind shut down into sleep. But she would actually get up in the night and cook or you know, do different things and then wake up in the morning and not have any recollection that her kitchen would be a disaster.

And it serves really frightened her that she was having these issues and she wasn't feeling rested, the medication wasn't helping are starting to make her feel a little delirious. And she found my class on Yoga nidra and started coming regularly. At that point, I think we were doing it twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And then she also got one of my CDs and took it home and was doing it to help her go to sleep at night. And the nice thing about yoga nidra is you know it 15 minutes is equal to an hour of deep sleep. So even when she do just the 20 minute practice, she was getting an hour of deep sleep totally different than what she was experiencing now.

Normally it over a period of time, I think it was around three weeks that she started to notice that she was finally feeling deeply rested. And then after another period, I think it was a six month or six week period of time she started to have regular sleep. And she finally got off her medication she was so sold on the practice that she studied natural medicine herself, got herself a degrees started having having clients and recommending Yoga nidra to them for their issues because and she's still one of my greatest advocates on Yoga nidra asking me to to record more CDs for her clients, because she's loved them and they've helped her so much so and I have Lots of lots of stories like this Yoga nidra has just been incredible. For some of my clients that have gone a little bit deeper, I had one woman who started to really become aware of her dreams and become more lucid in her dreams, which is a further along the way benefit that you can get from Yoga nidra after you've cleared away the subconscious mind, it helps to recollect your dreams.

And you can get into the art of dreaming a little bit further. When I leave the practice of one on one with someone, I generally am able to tune in to them and where they are and the visualizations kind of shift according to you know, who's there who's in the room. So, I've had some really neat experiences with people who are really ready to go deep. And it even surprises me the kind of the kind of visualizations that come through that we are able to explore. And just to give you a tidbit. This is just kind of On the fun side of things, I was doing a yoga nidra class in Portland, Oregon, at a studio and I had about 12 students signed up for six weeks.

And at the end of our six weeks, I decided it would be fun to play around with some of the more advanced benefits that Yoga nidra can offer. And that is really tuning into more of a group mind something that's beyond just my own consciousness. You know, I've read that those with remote viewing could take their consciousness into a room in a totally different space and and see what was there and bring back the information. So I thought you know, yoga teacher can do that for people. So I put everyone into the practice I brought several pieces of paper, drawn several symbols on them and place them in the same room with a curtain between the the class and the papers on the ground. So the class is in yoga, nidra and individualization section, I tell them to know Get up in their, their, like auric bodies, their energy bodies and to walk into the adjoining part of the room behind the curtain and look at the papers that I have placed on the floor and the symbols on them.

So I'm asking them to do this in with their light of consciousness with their conscious mind that is not tied to the physical body. So in these light bodies, their consciousness is to go into the other room, look at the papers and remember what the symbols are. Now, I have them do this, and then we go ahead and close out the yoga nidra. And when they come back to I asked everyone to draw the symbols that they saw in their Yoga nidra and then everyone pulled them out and I brought the papers from the other room. And I have to tell you, it was remarkable how similar their drawings were and some of them were almost completely identical but They have the same shapes, they have the same movement. And there was four different pictures.

And it was it very much convinced me that these people were able to see the pictures, maybe the interpretation was slightly shifted. But it really sparked my interest into the availability that our consciousness has to go beyond this form. So just kind of a fun, different story about yoga nidra. Another one that I have is my child has been doing yoga nidra since he was in the womb, I have a seven year old boy. And it says that if you practice yoga nidra while you're pregnant, and when the baby's very young that it keeps your child tapped into their genius self. They're that part of them that we often lose when we're born and get inundated by society and other people's opinions and so forth.

Well, he's continuing to enjoy the practice and asked me to Put it on for him when he goes to bed. But I have to tell you, he's a very brilliant child. And I'm not trying to brag. He's very advanced for his age. He's very creative, uses very large words, and is an incredible artist. He is really just an incredible child that way he's able to articulate he always can tell you what he's feeling.

You know, unlike most adults, who can't really explain what's going on in them. He's very clear when he has sadness when he just needs to cry when he's feeling angry about something or stressed he's able to verbalize it very clearly, and take the steps that he needs to go to that and sometimes I feel like I'm dealing with an adult. And I have to remind myself that he's only seven. But you know, when I look at why this is rough, you know, instead of just thinking, well, he's just a remarkable child. I often think, you know, yoga nidra has something to do with this that he is very tuned into who he is and is able to express them Self and, you know, bring in his creative self because he has done so much Yoga nidra in his life. So just to end up here, yoga nidra has helped so many people that I know personally work through physical conditions, work through mental emotional stuff, work through spiritual transformations.

And it's just, you know, for myself personally, it gave me the sleep that I was lacking during my pregnancies and new motherhood times where I wasn't getting enough sleep, I would just turn on a yoga nidra and even if I stayed awake, I know I got the, the deep sleep benefits and it's just been a lifesaver. So I'm so excited to be sharing this powerful art with you and hope that you are utilizing it to the best and to the depth that it has to offer you. So that is a few of the stories that I have. There's so much more. You can find more information online. I know a friend of mine.

Just one quick more thing before I wrap it up here I started teaching a 12 week yoga immersion course. It was like a sort of like an immersion course. Not like I took an India but I had my yoga students from a studios teaching in Portland and I wanted to take them deep into one of the yoga texts that I've studied and really give them an opportunity to experience these things fully. So I set up a 12 week course and we started with cleansing practices to get the body ready we did the neti pot and we did some internal cleansing and we did some trotec candle gazing a bunch of stuff to clear the body out and and we went through breathing practices and things In front asanas and mantras and did all these things, and I taught with a man who noticed that I had set up this 12 week course.

And he was very interested in participating and wanted to know if he could help out. And I said, Well, why don't you just come in, sit in on the class, you have such great energy you can hold space. For me that in Tantra is that the feminine is the creative force, and the masculine has consciousness and it holds that container for the feminine. So would you please come and be that container. So he did that and, and in the course of the practice, we did a yoga nidra section. And the yoga nidra was so powerful to him that he took it on and asked if he and I could teach just a yoga nidra course.

So then we got into a 12 week Yoga nidra course that we shared together. He took the yoga nidra went on to get his master's in psychology down in Pleasant Hill, California. He's been an Oakland studying I just finished up his master's is just about to go and do his internship in Alaska. But he has taken the yoga nidra and worked with prisoners worked with different people with different psychological issues. I know another man who's working with soldiers with post traumatic stress disorder, that the yoga nidra has helped incredibly, and I just, I felt so blessed to have been taught this practice and be able to share it. You know, when I first got back from India, no one had ever really heard of it.

And I tried teaching it a few times in studios and got, you know, few participants, but now it's becoming more widely known that it is really powerful. And in one of the other sections, we go over the science and the background of yoga nidra and I'm excited to share some of that information with you as well. So, there you go, stories yoga, nidra consciously
