So, the next element type available is prism mesh. So, this is the sixth ordered prism or overcharged or we can call it s. So this is the first one. So where you can see six nodes and four plus two plus two, nine elements. So, in the same way, the second order elements having each node in the middle and the each element can be divided as two element two elements, right. And the next one is extra hedra. So, here you can see first order and second order element.

So the first order element having eight nodes and so to can lead to all elements will be there. In the same time, if you can observe here, the nodes will be tontine. And in the same way, the number of elements are going to be diverted in the same manner. Right. So here you can see our example also. So this is mainly used for 3d structure mesh, and the next one is polyhedra.

So this generally we can't create in the measure, so that we can convert elements, we can convert the elements in the solver, right in the fluent we can convert all the elements into polyhedra. So, so I hope now we know all the types of elements, different types of elements, which we can use in the measure. So let's Let's see the advantages of these elements. So, this is the 2d elements. So, these things mainly used to create unstructured mesh. So, normally what we know if we create more unstructured mesh, the regions will be not accurate right.

So, so, what we are doing is So, if we solve as many as equations as possible the results will be accurate right. So, as we know or we used to calculate the equations particularly at the north, so, what we can do is take unstructured mesh element, so, make it a second order element so, that what will happen, the number of nodes will be more. So, the number of iterations what we are going to solve is going to be Increase, then the accuracy of results automatically increase right. So, and even the same case here, normally, this quad quad element will be used to create structured mesh in 2d. So, over here, if we need we can we can make it a second order also. So, particularly, so, the 2d the 2d problems will be can be solved in very less time when compared to the 3d element problems.

Because in the 2d problems the number of elements is very, very low and the accuracy of the element quality also very high because number of elements are low so we can create more quality So, that is a reason most of the cases particularly in structural analysis, so, we prefer to go with 2d elements to dimension. So, even when it comes to 3d, same thing here the tetrahedron will be used to create unstructured mesh and the tetrahedron and the pyramid particularly this prism. So, this is connected element. So, where it can connect to different kind of elements, let's say, if we want to connect this tetrahedron and pyramids, so, you can see the faces this face and this face. So, only the common element available is prism element. By using this we can connect it these type of elements.

The next is hexa hidden So, This is a perfectly structured mess, we can create a perfectly structured image using this one. Right? I hope now, we have a clarity on each and every element of where we can use how we can use and what is its advantages, right? What is its property. So in the coming lecture, we'll see we'll create all these elements in the ANSYS measure.
