If you have ever gotten a piece of &ldquo;junk mail&rdquo; sent to you from a credit card company, that solicitation is called the direct response or direct mail. In the online world, it is often called spam. Direct mail is all about numbers. A response rate of 2% to 3% is considered good. The key here is that success is made up in volume. One of the wonderful aspects of the online world is that you have the ability to send direct mail to people you know as well as people you don&rsquo;t.
