DESCRIPTION: Instructor note: Download the Digistars SAM FlipBook samples, print out on card stock, cut and assemble before class. Use a binder clip or industrial staple as the registration to secure the pages.
Distribute the sample flipbooks and demonstrate flipping through them for the students. Allow the students to pass the books around and ensure each student has an opportunity to handle at least one flipbook.
Ask: What did you notice when you flipped through the pages really quickly (The image seemed to move.) Ask: Were the images really moving (No. Seeing the images in rapid succession give us an illusion of motion. It is a way that our brain interprets what it sees, even if it&rsquo;s not really happening.)
