DESCRIPTION:
Demonstrate how the trifold display is used to create set walls and show how a drawn backdrop can be affixed to the display with binder clips. Remind participants to cover the floor of the set with construction paper as well.
Emphasize that scenes should be drawn, taped, or glued onto construction paper that will be affixed to the cardboard tri-fold with clips so that the cardboard itself can be used again and again, i.e., they should not glue or tape directly onto the cardboard.
Mention that scenery can also be set in front of the backdrop or hung across the backdrop for more of a 3D effect. The scenery can be made out of paper, clay, or other materials such as pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, tissue boxes, etc.
Distribute modeling clay, construction paper, markers, scissors, glue sticks.
Assist students in envisioning and creating their sets.
Be sure to allot the last few minutes of the class to clean up and store the clay models in the food storage container. Close the container...
