Preparation

Terminology
Shot: What is captured by the camera in one operation.
Scene: Several shots edited together.
Sequence: Several scenes edited together. Three sequences will equal a film: one beginning sequence, one middle sequence, one end sequence.
Continuity: Ensuring that scenes are shot and edited together to give the illusion that the story is unfolding along a linear path.
Wide or Long shot: The camera is far away from the subject. The camera takes in the whole scene and is not focused on the subject.
