DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to lead participants through the production process involved in creating a stop motion animation. By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify the elements involved in the pre-production, production, and post-production of a stop motion animation.
Additionally, students will understand that every movie tells a story and that stories are defined by certain elements.
Students apply what they learn each step of the way, progressing toward the goal by building upon what they’ve already learned and created. Movies created during this course will demonstrate an understanding of literacy and storytelling structure.
Each module is designed to be taught in a single class period of 45-60 minutes but can be sped up or stretched out according to the time available. The first lesson in each module contains a Lesson Plan to download that contains:
