Great work great work. So you guessed that one, the sound part is a part inside the character that helps us knowing what the pronunciation will be like. Let me break it down for you and give you some examples of this. And you have this character now it's pronounced Tom, let's put it here, Tom. And you'll have this character pronounced Thumb Thumb. So you can see how this part song is later Later on used again, in tongue and it also gives us the pronunciation for that character.

And here's another one this character is pronounced cold. I think you can guess which one is the sound part here. On the right side we see this character right here we see mouth and already seen this one before and mouth is also pronounced I hope you still remember because that would be very helpful for this exercise. And mouth is pronounced call so they're pronounced the same all so in both examples song in the first one was the sound part for tone, and co was the sound part for call this one wonderful. When we see a new character, not, not every time but very often are we able to guess the sound, the sound by dissecting the character like we just did there into smaller parts and then going, oh, maybe the solid part is this idea is this is this building block because I recognize this one, let's try that one out.

And usually a workout like just fine like that. So that's really useful. So really useful thing to know about this thing. I also want to tell you about this next thing called idea pot. There's a lot of things now just bear with me, it's very, very important. I can't emphasize that enough.

So idea part. And this is also really, really useful. So within Chinese characters not only lays clues to the pronunciation, but also for an idea part, which will help us understand the meaning of of every character or not every character but there are very often idea parts as well. So generally, we can break down characters into two parts. Sorry, two parts, sound and idea we've already talked about. Sound hears idea, sound gives the sound an idea now gives the meaning.

So that's all we need to know about a character, its pronunciation and its sound. The idea part can't tell us what the character means directly, but it can hint it basically, here you can see an example of that. This character, we don't need to focus on its pronunciation, it is it means a person will learn it very soon actually. And this and in this character, we see three people you see one of the top and two in the bottom here, there is actually no sound part only idea parts involved. So we have three people, and this character actually means audience. So we see we plus two we add together one plus two plus three people, and that illustrates that represents an audience or a crowd.

So you see how this just contains a lot of idea parts. All the people that this character for person, were involved in this one, and they were all idea parts. So in this video, we've learned a lot of valuable things that I want you to To take with you now put in your little bag of knowledge, walk out and feel proud. And we've learned about sound parts we've learned about idea parts and I'm done talking
