So the good news here is that you've worked on your user tasks. you've understood what they are, and you've designed your user flows off the back of those tasks. So that now is a great piece of work in itself. But here's how you can make it even more powerful. What you can now do is bring some of the elements of the hooks into the content, so that it supports the use of flows. Because this is really important.
And I'll tell you why. One of the biggest issues with lots and lots of websites and we see this every day in our consulting work is what we call bounce rate. And if you don't know what that is, this is the percentage of visitors who click on effectively a hook. visit your website, your homepage and leave almost within 10 seconds. That's all it is 10 seconds. In fact, when you look at a lot of the stats, people leave even quicker than that, maybe in five seconds.
And a lot of the time. This is because people haven't joined the dots between the hook and what they're beginning to see on the website. This is where the hooks start to help you. As we've said before, everything hangs off the hooks, the messaging, the type of content, the language, the tone of voice you're using. So make sure that you don't leave the two separate, start to bring them together. This is where your website will become even more powerful, so that the hook and the flows start to stay the customers towards where you need them to be.
I hope that's useful. I'll see you in the next lesson.
