Hi there, welcome to hooks flows and funnels. My name is George Beverley. And I just want to say thank you very much for enrolling in the course. So let me get straight to it. What are you going to get as a result of taking this course with me? Well, what we're going to work through are three components that are going to help you supercharge your website, so it delivers more leads for your business.

So this course is all about commercializing. What it is you do online, this course is not going to deal with anything purely design and look and feel. That is a part of what we'll work through. But if you're expecting anything about how to just go ahead and design a website, then this is not the course for you. This is all about understanding users, taking them on a journey on your website, and bringing them back when they're ready to buy from you. So if you're good with that, I'm good with that.

Let's crack on. So by now you're probably thinking, what the heck are hooks flows and funnels. So I just want to spend a minute or two, breaking that down for you, because it's really important. So number one hooks, these are the messages that engage and attract your customers, and eventually bring them to your website. So when we talk about hooks, it could be email, it might be Pay Per Click campaigns, it might be Facebook content, it's actually waving a flag and saying, here's my business, come and find out more. When we talk about flows.

It's all about understanding the little journeys that your customers need to go on on your website in order to find out more about your product or service and we sometimes talk about us the tasks These are the things that they need to go through on your website in order to make up their mind whether or not you are right for them. And last but not least, funnels. These are essentially sales funnels. This is understanding where the customers are on the sales journey. So you can use your hooks that you've already developed to drive them back to your website, because the fact is, not every single visitor to your website is ready to buy every single time. That's why funnels are so important.

So if you remove one of those elements, and if your website isn't performing for one reason or another, it might be because you've not thought about these three very distinct components that all work together to supercharge your website. So we've spoken about hooks flows and funnels and how those three components work together. Gather to supercharge your website, I just want to talk about some methodologies that underpin everything that you and I are going to work through over the next few lessons. There are two elements, I just want to spend a minute or two explaining to you why we're going to use them. The first element is insight. So insights might be a particular behavior that you've seen, or something you've heard from your customers, or it might be some research that you've done.

It might be an opportunity to improve on what the competition's currently doing. insights guide us in terms of what we'll do with not only our hooks, and how we attract our customers, but the journeys and the flows we take them on when they're on the website. And obviously this is going to feed into how we build the sales funnels and how we understand where they are in the different stages of the process. And why use insights because your money is at stake here. should be spending and investing your hard earned cash on some type of evidence, not a gut instinct. So when we say why use insights, it helps you remove the guesswork from how to build your website.

And secondly, validation. validation is all about testing, and validating some of the decisions you made based on the insights. So think of it as test and learn, test and learn. Rather than go straight in and build something, build some tests on the way so you can validate your thinking, so that when you decide to finally invest a lot more money, you've done some evidence, you've done some testing and you know what your cash is going to deliver. So, insights and validation. You're going to hear a lot more about these over the next few lessons.

So the idea behind hooks flows and funnels actually came from our consulting work. So we run a separate digital consultancy where we work with bigger corporate clients and brands. And we started to do some work with those guys. And then we thought, well, let's take all the techniques, all the experiences that we know work for big corporates, and let's distill it and repackage it for small businesses and entrepreneurs. And that's you. So I just wanted to reassure you that every single thing you and I will work through over the next few lessons.

These are things that have been tested. These are techniques that we know work with big corporates, and some of the biggest brands that are out there. So these are teachings from real life business if you like. So, if you're happy with that, I'm really confident that it's going to help you let's get stuck in it. See in the next lesson
