Check the date on the container to ensure that the storage time has not expired (see the previous storage time section). Any expired breast milk should be discarded
Use the oldest breast milk first
Put the container in the refrigerator for 4–24 hours
Frozen breast milk should not be left at room temperature to thaw, as this will increase the bacterial count in breast milk
