DESCRIPTION: Lochia refers to the secretions discharged from the uterus after childbirth. The amount of lochia during the first 3 days after delivery can be more than the usual period. The color will be lighter and the amount will be lesser ten days after giving birth. Lochia generally completes in 4 to 6 weeks. If there are abnormal phenomena such as large blood clots, foul smell, or blood outflow, the medical staff should be contacted immediately.
