DESCRIPTION: After the baby is delivered and if the mother is in good condition, then give the mother and child skin contact as much as possible. Breastfeeding the newborn as soon as possible or half an hour after birth is recommended. Breastfeeding is a skill that mothers and babies can master through learning. This requires patience and practice.
The breastfeeding baby will have a pattern of weight gaining. Although the weight might drop 7% in the first three days, there should be a steady growth afterward that reaches the weight when it was born on the tenth day. During the first three to four months after birth, the baby should have approximately 20 to 35 grams of weight gain daily.
