DESCRIPTION:
Babies who still have their umbilical cord on are not advisable to take a bath but wipe cleaning with a warm wet towel only. If they do need a bath, dry the umbilical cord immediately. A little of the red or purulent discharge is normal to found in the umbilical area but heavy discharge is caused by inflammation and should consult a doctor at once. Diapers should be folded down the top edge to avoid rubbing the umbilical cord and hurting the navel.
