DESCRIPTION:
Feeding one side at a time will reduce lactation. If the babies are satisfied with just feeding one side of the amount, it is highly recommended to express breast milk on the unfed side.
Breast milk will be reproduced to maintain the rate of lactation. Still, the best way is to feed the baby on both sides of the breast as the baby sucking the nipples is most helpful to the stimulation of breast milk secretion.
Breast milk at the beginning of feeding tends to be more watery. For babies who regularly do not drink a lot, parturient might consider expressing breast milk a little bit before feeding. The babies then may enjoy breast milk with higher fat content.
