DESCRIPTION: To prevent zinc deficiency in babies, mothers should avoid excessive consumption of MSG. Usually, MSG does not have much impact on adults’ health. MSG for babies, especially babies within 12 weeks of age, could cause significant health problems. If the mother eats a high-protein diet while consuming too much MSG during breastfeeding, the sodium glutamate in MSG enters the baby's body through the breast milk. Excessive sodium glutamate has a serious impact on the development of infants, especially infants within 12 weeks.
MSG will bind with the zinc in the blood of the infant and form glutamic acid which cannot be absorbed by the body, eventually, infants will lack zinc as it is excreted through urine. Consequently, there will be a negative impact on the health of the infant as well as the body growth.
