Hello, this is Mark with clickfunnels support, and today you're going to learn how you can set up your custom sub domain with clickfunnels via CloudFlare. I highly recommend that you pause this video at certain places so that you can complete each step as we go through this video. It is important that you pay attention to each step and follow the instructions carefully. Please note that this video is only for those who wish to keep their current website on their primary domain and have their Click Funnels pages and funnels on a subdomain. If you have an existing website located at your domain. Following the steps in this video, we'll move your current DNS records to CloudFlare and keep your existing website accessible.
Let's get started. First, you we're going to go to CloudFlare comm click the Sign up now button. Your email twice and confirm your password twice. Check the terms and conditions box and click Create Account. You will then be taken to your CloudFlare dashboard where you will be prompted to take a tour. I highly recommend taking this 32nd tour so that you can familiarize yourself a little bit more with the CloudFlare dashboard.
Go ahead and pause this video now and come back once you have finished the tour. Now that you have finished the tour, you will be taken to the Getting Started page. Here you will enter your primary domain name. Do not enter your sub domain at this time. You can actually enter in multiple domain names separated by commas, but for this first one, please only enter one domain. Also, please only enter the domain do not enter HTTP or www Or anything extra.
Once you have entered your domain, go ahead and click on scan DNS records. This can take about 60 seconds, and during this time you get to watch a quick video that explains what CloudFlare is all about. This is important information, so make sure that you pay attention. This is a good time for you to also pause this video so that you can watch the CloudFlare video. After the timer is finished, click the Continue button. On the next page, make sure you verify all of your DNS records.
You will want to make sure that all of the DNS records that you have with your current registrar or host are present in your CloudFlare account. This will ensure that there is no interruption in service with your existing website. Now in order to add your sub domain, all you need to do is add a CNAME record for each subdomain that you wish to add. Click the drop down on the left and select c name Type only the subdomain in the first field and type target.clickfunnels.com in the next field, then click Add record. Once this is done and all of your DNS records are verified, click Continue. On the next page, you can select the free plan, and then click Continue.
This next page is going to tell you what your name servers need to be, you will need to log into your web host or domain registrar in order to do this, every web host and registrar is different. So you will need to find the area where you can manage your domain names, name servers, or DNS records. Once you change your DNS records, you will need to make sure that those are saved and updated. You will then go back to your CloudFlare account dashboard and click Continue. On the next page, the status will show pending until the new ns records have completely propagated once your domain is shown as active, you will need to scroll down to your settings summary where you will see SSL settings. If you have an SSL certificate on your primary domain, you can go ahead and select cool for your SSL settings.
If not, please select flexible. Now you will need to go to your clickfunnels account, click on my account and then settings and then custom domains. Type in your entire domain here, sub domain.domain.com. Set your root page and your error page. These are going to be the default pages for your sub domain. If someone tries to go to just your subdomain, or access a page that doesn't exist, check the SSL box and then click Create domain.
Now you will go into the funnel with which you will integrate this domain and click on funnel settings. You will set the funnel domain here and choose a path such as home or opt in or whatever you choose. Please Note that your funnel must have a path chosen in order to function properly. Make sure that you don't use any forward slashes in your path or your pages or funnels. Next, you will set the domain for each page in your funnel. After you have done this, you're all finished.
